STUDIO
Clients include individual artists, art galleries, architects and designers, and others who just enjoy creating. I've worked with art museums and have a great appreciation and experience with art handling.
The Artography Studio is located in Detroit near Belle Isle, used primarily to document wall hanging work, product shoots and small installations. There's a large plywood backed documentation wall, rolling table for 3D pieces, 9 foot wide paper sweeps and kit of lights.
Most often artwork is delicate to move or installation based, so a majority of shooting sessions occur where the art is located to prevent any damage. I'm equipped for travel with a kit of lights that stacks on a cart and can fit through a standard size door.
RATES
Every shoot is different so it's important for me to hear about your process and discuss logistics.
In general a shoot is based on three things: Shoot Time, Retouch Time, Image Use / Rights.
Once we discuss the project an estimate can be provided that includes rates, procedures, and image terms.
MY JOURNEY
I found my first camera at 6 and still shoot personal projects on film to this day. Received a BFA from Columbia College Chicago, worked with architectural photographers, then finished an MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Detroit has been home base ever since. It's a proud moment helping people tell their story visually and am constantly in awe of what people accomplish artistically.
